Cookie cuteness

Well, Easter has come and gone. I almost need another extra long weekend to recover!
I haven't yet had a chance to wade through the hundreds of photos I took over the weekend of the kids enjoying the Easter dessert table I created, so until I do, I just wanted to give you a small peek of some cute cookies. The cute chick cookie is totally inspired by Hello Naomi's work.

Happy Easter

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a wonderful Easter from my house to your house. I hope you get to enjoy the break and don't over-indulge!

Bye Baby Bunting Sip 'n' See

Sip ‘n’ See parties are slowly gaining popularity in Australia. I really like the idea of hosting a party so friends can meet the new baby. So I decided to host a Sip ‘n’ See to celebrate the birth of my second baby girl Tahlia.

It was a glorious summer day in Melbourne so the intimate gathering was held outdoors.

I chose a bunting theme for the party as I am a little obsessed with bunting right now and it seemed to be the perfect choice for my baby girl’s celebration. I was reminded of the children’s nursery rhyme, Bye Baby Bunting.

So with that in mind, I set about creating a special dessert table in the soft pastel colours of ice pink, silver and pearl.

I later noticed that two of the colours are featured in the Pantone top 10 colours for spring 2011 – silver peony and silver cloud.

The key elements of the dessert table - which is only the second dessert table I’ve ever created - were a bunting and a coordinating cake plate bunting. I collaborated with Sarah of Style Me Gorgeous to customise some printables for the dessert table which also featured the matching bunting design.

Sweets included on the dessert table were:

White chocolate and raspberry layer cake with fondant bunting.

Vanilla bean cupcakes with fondant bunting toppers.

Raspberry cream sugar cookies with fondant heart toppers.

White chocolate covered Oreo cookie pops.

Sweet champagne cupcakes with swiss meringue icing and cachous in ruffled cupcake pans.

Marshmallows and musk sticks

Milk chocolate bars

Pink grapefruit mineral water in mini glass bottles with vintage silver striped paper straws for the younger guests.

And afterwards, guests were given matching Onesie/Romper cookies as favours.

I finished the table off with matching satin ribbons, pearl papers and tablecloth. The lolly jars are from Sharnel Dollar Designs and the vintage paper straws from Mon Tresor.

I had my husband iron the tablecloth but maybe next time, I’ll do that myself too! It was still a little creasy ...

Everything is just peachy

I confess, I love ribbon! If a ribbon catches my eye, I buy it, even if I have no particular purpose for said ribbon. At the moment I am also obsessing over anything peach coloured. So when I came across this peach and magenta polkadot ribbon, I knew I had to have it. So much so am I enamoured by this particular ribbon, I am styling an entire christening around it next month for a special little girl. I guess you could say, I will be seeing spots by the end of it ...

Happy Valentine's Day!

A few weeks back, I baked these vanilla shortbread cookies with raspberry buttercream for an event I styled. I think they are rather perfect for Valentine's Day, don't you agree?

A spot of pink and red

On a bright sunshiny day a little while ago now, super-sweet Saskia turned two.

I had settled on a fun, girly pink and red polkadot themed party to celebrate the milestone and set about styling every detail of the couture candy and cake celebration to match.

The spotty dessert table comprised:
- Vanilla bean cupcakes
- Tahitian lime babycakes with zesty lime frosting, mini fondant hearts and sanding sugar
- Lolly shaped sugar cookies
- White chocolate covered Tim Tam cookie pops
- Three-coloured macaroons in Champagne, rose, and strawberry flavours
- Coconut ice
- Strawberry and raspberry jellybeans
- Milk chocolate bars
- Strawberry flavoured milk

Spotty themed papers, matching bunting, tissue paper pom poms and lanterns, grosgrain ribbons and damask tablecloths complete the super sweet table.

I hope you enjoy the details of the party as much as I enjoyed putting it all together.
